The Ant Nebula also known as Menzel 3 is a young bipolar planetary nebula located in the constellation Norma.It is 8 ly (light years) away from earth and has a magnitude of 13.8.The Ant Nebula is expanding at a estimated rate of  50km/s and has its polar axis oriented at an angle of 30 degrees from the plane of the sky.The Ant Nebula was discovered by Donald Howard Menzel in 1922.
